10/14/13 My Daddy was a Pistol, and I’m a Son of a Gun

Wow, busy weekend…me keeping my humans busy, that is!

We DID have the perfect night on Friday for camping out under the stars in the backyard.  The temperature was cold enough to snuggle under the sleeping bags, but nice enough to sit around by the bonfire with a lantern, finishing our story and eating S’mores.   (Mom reads to Jamie every night to teach tone and inflection.  Whatever that means.)  I did manage to nab a marshmallow, but no chocolate for me. I had a blast bouncing around on the air mattress and flashmobbing Jamie and Mom while they stretched out.  Mom had put a couple of comforters on top of the air mattress, so lots of pouncing and no puncturing.  Finally I settled down and we had a fabulous sleep.

But that was then and this is now:  with me, snatching a dish towel and shredding it; eating the thumb off an “OveGlove”; shredding crusty used Kleenex and other assorted garbage; stealing the clean socks out of the laundry basket; and, my latest trick:  leaning up on the counter and streeeeetching my neck as far as it will go to steal a stick of butter.  Ah, the chasing!  Run human, run!  Muahahaha!

Another new sport I’ve invented:  couch surfing.  When one of my humans sits on the couch or chair, I flashmob them until they get up and move.  I then stretch out in the spot they’ve vacated – until they choose another spot, then, I jump on that piece of furniture and start the whole process all over again.  Good, clean, slobbery, fun!

Mom has been yelling that I’m a son of a gun and a pistol.  Hence today’s blog title.

Sending loving woof-out to Laurel, who hurt her ankle today.  Hope to see her Wednesday if she’s all healed up.  See, four legs are better than two!

Woof!  Love, Maggie

Maggie, Maggie, Maggie! It’s great to know you are interacting well with your people! As for taking their chairs, that’s a stunt my two Persian cats pull on me. It isn’t always appreciated!
