6/11/16 The Weekend Update

There’s been a lot happening here, and on the other hand, not a lot happening here.

Allow me to explain. The “not a lot happening” refers to Dad, who went to get his blood drawn and the vampire – er, phlebotomist – was out of the office for an hour. Since Dad was running on work-time, he didn’t stay to wait. He did get the slip for the cardiac stress test, though, so I’m guessing these tests are going to be waiting until next week. Mom isn’t too happy about it, but she isn’t saying anything for fear that Dad just won’t go at all.

I became very ill Thursday night. My humans saw me shaking my head and walking veeeery slowly, one paw in front of the other, and Mom immediately made an appointment for me at Dr. Craig’s office for the next day. I spent a miserable night Thursday, and on Friday Dr. Craig said my allergies were terrible, that I had a huge infection in my right ear, and that “this poor pup was suffering”. Here is a picture; look at how my eyes are running:

Dr. Craig squireted antibiotics in my ears and prescribed me some new medication. It makes me sleepy, and I’ve been resting all day. My eyes have already dried up and I’m not shaking my head. The medication was expensive, but Mom and Dad agree, it was worth it.

Yesterday, also, my human Erik moved out. I miss him. But that will be another blog!

Woof! Love, Maggie

(and PS from Mom – thank you ALL for the good vibes, prayers, etc. for us!!)

Oh, Liz. You need a vacation. Poor Maggie. She looks so pathetic in the photo but I’m happy to hear she’s so much better:) I can’t believe the person who takes the blood wasn’t there! OMG! and Erik moved out. You NEVER catch a break. Always lots going on, that’s for sure. Hope you’re doing okay. I’m definitely thinking about you. Hugs to sweet Maggie. 🙂

Avoid this becoming a “comes in threes” situation, Liz, by not keeping an eye on your own health! Glad your husband’s had his tests and Maggie’s recovering from her infection and allergy issues. What a load of responsibilities for you all at once!

Thank you for the wise words, Doug! Maggie is feeling better – seeing her eyes run just made me cringe. Jim went for the blood test but did not get it done. Nor has he scheduled the stress test yet. I am watching out for myself and Jamie – or should I say, Maggie is watching out for us as well! Woof!!
