1/17/17 The “Mischief With Maggie” Series has launched!

Dear Readers,

Maggie and I have been quiet a while. We have been busily reworking our previous manuscript. I am proud and pleased to announce that the first book in the “Mischief With Maggie” series is published in both ebook (Kindle) format and paperback. They are available at Amazon.com.

The paperback edition is available for $4.00 US. This book is not illustrated because the photos I had were not high res enough for the software. A disappointment, but nonetheless, I humbly offer it to you.

This is the picture you will see for the ebook:

The ebook sells for $1.50 US.

This first story outlines the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of adopting not just a shelter dog, but the longest-term resident of the shelter, and a dog classified as a “Pit bull” to boot.

Thank you to my WP family for all your support. It has been a very long time coming from page one to publication.

I will write more news soon. In the meantime, Maggie and I are going to go collapse!

10/31/16 Have A Spooktacular Halloween!

Wishing you all a fun and safe Halloween! We visited some neighbors who REALLY did their homes up and had actors and everything. It was spooky and exciting! Here are our Halloween pictures this year:

skeletons

This is one of the “haunted houses” that a family in the neighboring suburb did…it was so extravagant! All we have out is the huge dragon, which Mom named, “Rory” (rolls eyes)

plaguedoctor

Can’t recognize Jamie? He’s a plague doctor! He scared a bunch of people without even trying!

redhair

Can’t recognize Mom? She’s got “long hair” today ha ha ha!

Of course, I saved the best for last! Since I refuse to wear a costume, I’ll keep the pumpkin company! Be safe, and I wish you all more treats and no tricks!

Woof! Love, Maggie

9/28/16 Orange!

No, I did not dye my fur orange.

I saw Mom in the kitchen cutting up something round and it smelled very good! It was an “orange”, and Mom told Jamie it was absolutely delicious. Naturally, I wanted a sample. Mom said I was a silly girl and no way would I eat an orange. But, Mom caved (she’s a marshmallow inside) and gave me a small segment.

Happily, I took the juicy tidbit into my mouth and promptly spit it out. Mom and Jamie laughed at me, so I took a few licks and pushed it around the kitchen floor. Urg, gross.

Mom was nearly done with the orange (it was small) and I went into “sit” mode so I could have some of what she was eating. She couldn’t  possibly be eating that…that…thing she’d given me. She had to have something else! I call, “bait and switch”. I was positive she had something more tasty! Mom laughed again and said, “This is it, kiddo. This is the noms.”

However, Mom gave me another, larger, slice of the orange. She told Jamie, “Watch this, she’s going to eat it just to spite me.” Determined not to get laughed at again, I peeled my lips back and took it in my teeth. Gingerly, I ran with it into the living room and dropped the fruit on the rug.

I shoved it around a little, saw them watching me, then ate the orange down in one gulp. Mom and Jamie still laughed at me. When I saw Mom in the kitchen a little while later, I didn’t even bother to budge from the couch. Noms my foot. Who knows what shenanigans she was up to?

Orange you glad I shared this story? Woof! Love, Maggie

9/1/16 Pure Bliss.

purebliss

Whenever I see Maggie sleeping like this, with that little smile on her face and the contented look – not even the ears are up – I wonder what she is thinking about. Looks like pure bliss to me.

Last night, she was having nightmares. She shook so hard the entire bed shook with her. I woke up and pet her, making soothing sounds. Soon she was back to sleep without further incident.

There is so much I wish she could tell me. But for now, she’s sleeping peacefully.

Goodnight, friends.
